I am trying to take the feed output from one of our forums and send it to Twitter so members can see notifications via Twitter when you threads are posted.

I have tried using multiple services suck as Twitter Feed, Twibble and IFTTT and all report problems that the feed is not valid and cant be recognised.

In every case the feed fails to pass validation.

Any help  or ideas to get this working would be great.

Thanks.

Really... all this time and no reply from an admin at all?

Must I open a ticket on this to get the attention and support a paid user deserves?

Hi there,

Thank you for your message.

Apologies that this has slipped our system.

What is available and working for now, is for you to add your Twitter on your page by going to admin panel > menu > content > panel layouts > Twitter panel. This will make the Twitter feed appear on your site.

With regards to how you want to use the Twitter feed, this will be considered and carefully examined to be included on our next development.

Hope this helps.

Cheers!

Thanks for your response Evie, however I think you misunderstand. I don't want to add a twitter feed to the site but take the existing RSS feeds from our forums and push it out to a twitter feed. Pretty simple and common usage by today's standards.

I recall from somewhere, I think in main settings, that the RSS would not work correctly if the site was set to "Private"? Well I am pretty sure my site is not set to private (Couldn't exactly find the switch for that).

Hi Tealc,

As of the moment, your Twitter feed will appear on the site. To make it to work the other way around, requires custom coding.

You can always another member or include on your Recruitment for members with good command of HTML or other custom coding.

We have already added this to our feature request to be added on our future development.

Cheers!

Whatever custom coding you are referring to I think is over complicating it.

You already have RSS feeds in place, I should be able to take that feed and add it to Twitter, simples!

The only trouble is that it seems the version of RSS you are using does not support input to the likes of Twitter.

I look forward to seeing what is on cards for the future development of this.

----------
EDIT**
According to a video on YouTube here you can validate via your Twitter account - Twitterfeed

As to try and help you I've gone ahead and created a twitterfeed account and I've managed to validate without any trouble http://prntscr.com/8g1czc however when I entered my standard URL www.midnightgaming.uk without adding the "/news/rss" it would not validate, as you can see http://prntscr.com/8g1duw
-----------
Moving on, so I've followed the 3 simple steps and created a active service...and guess what it works!!! http://prntscr.com/8g1mzl & http://prntscr.com/8g1oi8

I surprise myself sometimes.

Right, so yeah..sorry pretty chuffed that I managed to get this working seen as i'm a newbie to RSS ROFL! Looks like you entered the wrong URL...I think*

If you want to tweet forum updates via twitter then do the following (I'm assuming you don't mind using twitterfeed)

Select each board

1) Right click on the RSS Icon and choose Copy Link Location - http://prntscr.com/8g1vjp

2) Paste link into twitter feed to verify, follow the steps and your done
